Crop Over Unapologetic Literary Arts Magazine

I recently entered an online competition held by ‘Gine On’ which challenged writers to create short stories or poems on the topic ‘Crop Over Unapologetic’. I was extremely pleased to find out that my short story had been accepted and that I would be published along with some of my idols from Barbados and around the world.

My short story is entitled ‘The Sweetest Love’ and is about a woman who was waiting patiently for the love of her life (Crop Over) to show up -as he yearly did- but soon realized that this was unlikely. As most of my readers know, Crop Over Festival in Barbados was cancelled this year which led to the disappointment of many, including myself. In the story, it is personified to give the essence of a true love story between a reliable man and a hopeful woman.
